Reporting a listing
How to report a listing that may not meet Luma Market鈥檚 handmade standards, and what happens after you do.
Last updated
If you think a listing doesn鈥檛 meet our handmade standards, tell us. Every report is read by a person.
How to report a listing
- Open the listing.
- Select Report this listing, below the listing details.
- Choose the category that fits, then tick anything on the list that matches what you鈥檝e noticed.
- Add a description, and photos or links if you have them.
- Submit.
You need to be signed in, but you don鈥檛 need to have bought the item. If you have bought it, report from your order page instead: the option there is Report a standards concern, and it carries more weight.
Reports are capped at 5 a day per account.
What you can report
| Category | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Not Handmade / Authenticity Concern | Looks mass-produced, dropshipped, or is on sale elsewhere as a stock item |
| Handmade process misrepresentation | The described process doesn鈥檛 match what鈥檚 really happening, like an undisclosed production partner |
| Intellectual Property / Copying Concern | Copied designs, counterfeits, trademarked characters, stolen artwork |
| Materials & Sustainability Misrepresentation | False eco, organic, recycled or ethical-sourcing claims |
| Product Quality / Safety Concern | Unsafe construction, or craftsmanship far below what was listed |
| AI Work or Fake Photos | AI art or AI-generated photos passed off as handmade work, or a mockup or render in place of a real photo |
| Prohibited or illegal item | Weapons, drugs, illegal sexual content, hateful content, animal cruelty, scams, reselling retail goods, fake reviews |
| Other | Anything else that concerns you |
If it鈥檚 a safety problem, if something you bought isn鈥檛 safe says which box to tick so it reaches us first.
Some options only appear if you own the item, because they鈥檙e things you can only know from holding it: the packaging, the labelling, how it behaved in use.
Verified shopper reports
If you bought and received the item, your report is marked as coming from a verified shopper. It counts for more, because you have direct experience of the thing itself rather than a photograph of it.
What happens next
We look at the listing鈥檚 own making disclosure, whatever evidence you鈥檝e sent, and whether the same listing or shop has been reported before. Several reports on one listing in a short period push it up the queue.
Possible outcomes:
- No violation. The listing meets the standard and the report is closed.
- A suggestion. The maker is asked to improve something specific, usually the making disclosure.
- A warning. A formal notice the maker has to address.
- Suspension. The listing comes down, either while the maker fixes it or permanently.
- Shop closure. For clear or repeated breaches.
We won鈥檛 tell you which of these happened. That鈥檚 the maker鈥檚 business. Every credible report is acted on, and we spot-check listings ourselves as well rather than waiting for reports.
Reporting in good faith
Report where you have a genuine concern. Reporting a competitor or someone you鈥檝e fallen out with is itself a breach of our standards, and we can see patterns in who reports what.
